Corneas are the most anterior transparent part of your eyes, and because of their steep curvature, they are one of the primary refracting eye components. People with keratoconus, however, have irregularly shaped corneas, which become thinner and bulge to a cone-like shape. In the early stages of this eye disease, the patient may experience blurry vision and increased sensitivity to glare and light. Astigmatism and nearsightedness are also indicators of keratoconus.
